Axxend empowering women entrepreneurship in Africa, with Microsoft, city of Dakar and city of Monaco

  Axxend, as part of its corporate social responsibility is sponsoring The CENFEM 2012 contest. The Dakar Chamber of Commerce together with the City Council launched this contest to create innovative companies in the field of ICT for women. This contest aims at making women aware of the entrepreneurial challenges as well as opportunities and to give them the best chance of success while highlighting the channels of the digital world.
There are two categories for awards;

1. Women who intend to create a company in this field and
2. Women who already have a businesses in this field and considering its development in the digital service or creating a new product.

Prices include installation assistance and support for one year.
This is just one of the many ways Axxend is reaching and impacting the communities where we operate.

Team coached by Axxend’s intern going to Microsoft Imagine Cup final in Sydney !

The Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student technology competition. Students around the globe have been waiting in anticipation to learn whether they will advance to the Imagine Cup 2012 Worldwide Finals. The West and Central Africa local finals took place on 28 April at the Bourse du Travail of Abidjan, in Ivory Coast. This year, 40 software design projects were submitted from 14 countries but only the top 5 teams advanced to compete in the local finals. Team Sen Section, sponsored and supported by AXXEND and coached by an Axxend’s Intern as won their ticket to represent West and Central Africa at Sydney in July. Axxend Limited at Microsoft Open Door

Open Door is Microsoft’s premier technical education event aimed at offering technology professionals and decision makers the chance to explore and connect with a broad set of current and soon-to-be-released Microsoft technologies, tools, platforms and services. On the 23rd of February Axxend has been invited by Microsoft to showcase SharePoint 2010 and SQL Server 2012. Not only Axxend has demonstrated world class IT Solutions, but it has also showcase the fastest selling gaming device in history: Microsoft Kinect. Hard work, but also lots of fun on Axxend’s booth, with the presence of Wemba OPOTA, EVP & CTO for Axxend Corporate.

Axxend and Microsoft presenting UC Solutions to CIOs and Architects in Accra

The event was held at our corporate head office in Accra on the 21st of February 2012. Axxend had invited CIO and Architects to present Unified Communication Solutions and SharePoint 2010. It started by a keynote from Bosco HOUNGBEDJI, our EVP Business Development. Then Daniel Ogbonna, Depth Segment Marketing Manager at Microsoft, shared Microsoft’s vision for Ghana with the audience. Finally, Wemba OPOTA, EVP and CTO at Axxend took the floor to talk about productivity gain and cost savings of implementing the right Unified Communication and Collaboration IT Solutions. He closed the day by an amazing live demo of the unified three screens  experience using Windows 8, Windows Phone 7 and a PC.

The 18 companies present took advantage of a unique demonstration on use of Lync technology and especially the benefits associated with them.

A “Unified Communication” Event has been held in Douala at “Le Meridien” Hotel with IT professionals and decision makers across all industries. Axxend Cameroon made a fantastic Lync demo to inform and demonstrate how it could be possible to leverage a company's business in the areas of communications cost savings, as well as Collaboration.
